Lima, Peru – In an atmosphere of fraternity, The Light of the World congregants gathered in the city of Lima, Peru, at the Asociación Centro Social Concepción, to participate in the most important celebration of the Christian faith: the Holy Convocation, which commemorates the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God and Savior of the world.
On Sunday May 11th, the Holy Supper, which consists of partaking of bread and wine which symbolize the body and blood shed by the Lord Jesus Christ during his crucifixion, was celebrated with solmenty. By participating in this memorial the brethren fulfill a commandment given by Jesus Christ at the last supper with his apostles before being crucified, to whom he said : “do this in remembrance of Me.
Before the solemn act of partaking of the bread and wine, those gathered sang songs, prayed, and words of adoration to God were heard in the venue. With the authority of the Apostle of Jesus Christ, the bread and wine were blessed to produce the vindicating and regenerating spiritual effects of forgiveness, communion and unity, thus uniting the participants in one body, as the Scripture says: “For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread”.
The Holy Supper, is an act of great transcendence in the spiritual life of participants, because the participation of the memorial is of utmost importance, having understood the spiritual teaching of Christ, who in his Word establishes: “Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day”.
