Today, The Light of the World celebrates 99 years since its Restoration, which began on April 6, 1926, when the Apostle of Jesus Christ, Brother Aaron Joaquín González, received God’s calling in the city of Monterrey to fully dedicate himself to preaching the gospel. It was through this calling that this man of God found meaning and purpose for his life.
Since that day, the members of this religious faith have worked spiritually, socially, and materially, achieving significant growth and development in more than 60 countries. This is evident in the number of faithful members, the construction of temples, and countless social works of various kinds carried out by the congregations.
In addition to its tireless religious work, it has promoted personal advancement among its members, inspiring interest in higher education. As a result, thousands have earned university degrees at various levels and in diverse areas of human knowledge — including undergraduate, graduate, and specialized fields.
In the area of entrepreneurship, the Christian faith has encouraged thousands of members to start businesses, contributing to economic growth and the creation of new jobs that benefit those in need.
These accomplishments — recognized both within and outside the church — have been guided and inspired by the example and teachings of the three Apostles of the Restoration. They have proclaimed the gospel across all five continents and have also participated in forums and conferences, promoting topics such as religious freedom and human rights.
It is worth noting that this anniversary celebration takes place alongside the celebration of several Holy Suppers held in cities across Mexico and abroad.
